ARE YOU SURE THAT YOUR MEAT IS REALLY SUCCULENT?

What do you think the meaning of the word SUCCULENT is?

The Collins English Dictionary defines it as “Juicy and delicious..”

Good Looking Meat

Within the meat industry it can often simply mean the meat concerned could well have had excess water, brine, or similar fluids pumped or injected into it, in order to make it taste juicier.

When buying any kind of meat, specially frozen, you should always check just how much of the total weight of the meat is made up of fluids like water or brine (salt-water). Sometimes around 10% of what you buy is made up of fluids added, and not the meat itself.

Your best bet is to purchase your meat from a reputable butcher, where your meat is usually additive free.
