A new scam is doing the rounds, and you should be specially careful if your computer seems to be running slow.

It usually starts off with a phone call, claiming that they are from Microsoft, telling you that they are aware that your computer is running slow, and that they can solve your problem now on-line, and start to give you the solving solution over the phone.

The instructions they give you, instead of speeding up your computer, actually installs spy-ware on your system giving them complete control of your computer and all of the information on it.

Another version is that they ask you for a ‘repair fee’ to be paid into a system like Western Union, whereby your money will just vanish.

REMEMBER: Microsoft do not do cold calling.
