The Guardian has reported the case of an 84 year old dementia sufferer, bombarded by mail scams, who has spent thousands of pounds on items he never wanted, just to get the promised prizes they claimed he had won.

A victim can be bombarded with scam mail once they reply to only one scam letter. They are then placed onto the scammers ‘easy pickings’ register, as their details are passed to hundreds of other scammers as a ‘sucker’.

Here is the full Guardian story. It is well worth reading. It could easily be you.

you should report ANY SCAMS to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.
